This course covers the Paediatric Basic Life Support. You will learn how to recognize a cardiac arrest, and how to respond. You will learn when, and how, to perform CPR in children over 1 year old and babies younger than 1 year old. You will learn how to use the AED and how to act in the event of a severe airway obstruction. This course takes you step by step through the algorithm and explains with video instructions how to perform the actions. This course is based on the guidelines of the Dutch Resuscitation Council (NRR).

Knowledge test
Your knowledge of the theory is tested by means of a series of questions. You can take this test as often as you want or until you have achieved the desired result. If you do not do well on the knowledge test, we advise you to review the theory. Reading / reviewing the theory and the result of the knowledge test together determine whether you pass this module. The knowledge test counts for 40% in this.

Basic life support of a child by 1 provider
In this interactive test you will perform CPR on a child when you are alone.
Basic Life Support of a baby by 2 providers
In this interactive test you will perform CPR on a baby with bystanders and an AED.
